Regional Color Director, Richie Rivera started his Sassoon career at Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, CA in 1992. After training at Sassoon Salon, Beverly Hills, Richie transferred to the Boston salon in 1993, where he has been based for the last 16 years. During his time in this Sassoon, he worked as Salon Color Director, until being named East Coast Regional Color Director in 2009.

Known for his consistent, classic color work, Richie's talent has led to a loyal clientele in Boston and beyond. In addition to his client work, Richie is often involved in off-site events, including serving as the head colorist for a Sassoon / Procter & Gamble photo shoot in Japan, frequently participating in the Alternative Hair Show in Chicago, Orlando and London, and leading the Wella Trend Vision Tours in North America.

As the Regional Color Director for Sassoon, Richie manages all the colorists and tinters on the East Coast, which means he regularly teaches classes and leads creative presentations to inspire his team. Aiming to motivate his color departments to continue to learn and grow, Richie believes education is the key to success in this profession. "My favourite part of the job is sharing knowledge. Whether working on shows or in the salon, I love teaching and moulding other colorists with the Sassoon techniques," said Richie.
